I have been absent from my website and social media for months-basically the long Louisiana summer. For some reason I fell into a funk. I procrastinated on posts and coaching work, stopped eating healthy, and barely moved during the hot (and very wet) summer. The current cooler temps are motivating, but my real reboot happens in 5 days.
I will be traveling to Italy to take cooking classes and study the people and food of a BLUE ZONE.
What is a Blue Zone? “Blue Zone” is a non-scientific term given to geographic regions that are home to some of the world’s oldest people. There are many diets that focus on the foods of people in Blue Zones. They have low protein and plant-based focused diets. and habits of regular, low-intensity physical activity.
I love to travel and go at least once a year to a location I haven't been before. I come back with a better perspective on how lucky I am to live in the land of plenty. I also return with the knowledge that I should simplify my life, walk more, cook more and focus on my family. Traveling is the great "reboot". Travel gives you an opportunity to observe and understand how other cultures live, spend time in nature, view incredible historical relics and take a personal inventory of what you have and what you want to be.
I can't wait to board that plane and start my next adventure. I know that when I return, I will be refreshed and full of ideas and new perspectives. I look forward to sharing that with you and helping you on your wellness journey with more knowledge on how other people live long and fulfilling lives.
